Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I know that we can't be the only ones in this universe, it is too vast not to have some other life forms some where, whether it is carbon based like our own or silicon based as seen in some sci-fi shows, or even something that defies description. I think that we will discover this life by checking our skies for anomalies as SETI is doing now.

The pro's of discovery may be that they have far superior medical skills, manufacturing skills etc that they may be willing to share with us. The only con that I can see is that they will see us as somthing like vermin, destroying our own world and ourselves. They will do either of two things - put us out of our misery or leave us alone, to long for what may have been.

I think we should transmit some sort of signal, but I have no idea or what we should send.

I run SETI at home because as I said in the first paragraph, I believe that we are not alone in this universe. I think you guys are doing great things with the project and I am glad that I am able to help in my own little way.
