Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1. I'm a firm believer in the existence of extraterrestrial life. Given the number of stars and size of the universe, and the fact that we are proof that the chances for life on a planet is more than zero, there has to be life out there somewhere.

2. I think we should. The beacon should contain a message telling who we are, pitcures of ourselves and our planet and samples of our cultures from around the world.

3. I run SETI@home because I can. There is a chance we might find something, it's not big, but it's there. There will always be people who say things like this is a waste of time and resources, but I think that search for new knowledge is one of the things that defines who we are. If we find something or not, the search in itself is valuable.
