Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I agree with the late Carl Sagan: Given the vastness of the (known!) universe, even if 0.001% of the stars have planets, and 0.0001% of those planets are capable of bearing life, and 0.001% of those planets have life, and even if 0.0001% of the life-bearing planets have a 0.0001% chance of developing intelligent life, then there would statictically be millions and millions of planets eventually developing intelligent life. I support and participate in SETI@Home bacause even if we never actually comminucate with another intelligence, just knowing there is some out there would be a phenominal discovery.
