Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Does life exist out there... YES! i think 'life' in a form does exist but in the smallest monecular bacterial form. I dont think anything like 'us' ie so-called Intelligent life, is out there waiting for us to find them.. or indeed 'them' trying to find 'us'.but i am an eternal optimist!!. so roll on seti and seti@home.
'WE' Humans, are explorers by nature, from our first perception of touch and smell to landing on the moon,It is in our makeup to go looking to find new things of interest,So the thought is a very endearing one, ( Life on another planet) and i guess if we have the means to search then we should search in the hope of finding it. but if the 'WOW' factor came to something or another signal came into being then i am afraid it would be many many generations before we could do anything about it.
If you believe we have been 'visited', as many do, Then obviously there is 'Intelligent' life other than us out there, But..., Does this mean we should then believe in 'Alien Abductions' and the like? The 'Fire in the sky' scenario.hmmm!
