I once read about a comparision between an ant and the setiprogramm: maybe there is an ant in northamerica, and another one in australia. And both think and know there may be an other intelligent being, similiar to themselves, anywhere out there.
How do this ant find the other one? Learn about it? Contact it? Get there?
We might be far from talking to another intelligent species, but if we don't try to do what we're able to do so far, we won't even know.
Maybe someday another ant will find us. |
