Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
On a more serious note; I do believe ET life exists. Probably in ways we cannot coprehend yet! As a great man with long pointy ears once said, "It's life Jim, but not as we know it." Dr. Spock, Star Trek.

If we discover ET it will probably have a lesser IQ. (which will be a shame).
If ET discovers us they should be more technologicaly advanced and more intelligent. (Which would be great).

I believe ET knows we are here, they do not want to contact us!
If they are intelligent they would know our whole civilisation would have to change in an instant; if intelligent ET was proved. (this could be a seriously bad thing to happen).
Probably the worst thing that could happen is religion would change. Everybody believes in something. People would have nothing to believe in, Christianity, hindu, muslim, budhism etc.. etc... (We would probably panic and blow ourselves up).

People would be scared. I believe ET will not contact us untill as a civilisation we have grown up a bit; untill we have world peace, no famine & equal human rights. (This is not going to happen for a very long time).

SETI@home is a great idea, im jumping on the band wagon a bit late but hopefully i can contribute somewhere along the line.

Maybe my profile will live on in cyberspace for an eternity and 1 day in the distant future an alien will be looking through archived internet data, in an internet cafe (StarBucks!) drinking an anti matter cocktail; come across me and say.
........ "This guy writes a lot of shit". (In alien of course).
