Personal background
Hi!
My name is Micke and i am 34 years old. I work as a security officer and have been doing that for about 8 years. Space and the posabillity of life elsewhere
has occupied my minde as long as i can remember. In my spare time I try to work out and take long walks with my dog. I also spen time on the pistolrange for some relaxing target praktice.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1) I defenetly think that ET exist, space is too big for us to be alone, but then again in what form? I think we will get some sort of indication within the next 10 - 15 years, hopefully sooner. One can only hope that they will be friendly, at least not as destructive as humans. One benefit that comes to minde are enviormentally clen energy so that our children can have better world than we have. The downside would be if some great ego got hold of something like this an refuse to share it with the rest of the world.
2) Yes, I think we should send out a beacon because we can not just sit and wait for something to happen. I think that we should send information about how long we have been on this planet and our degree of development. Where we are might be a good idea to tell "them".
3) I run SETI@home because i want to do my part of the job in trying to finde life out there. I think that SETI should be sponsored by the UN, because what might come out of it will probably effect all the world.
