Profile: Walter Th. Bril

Personal background
Living the current part of my existing life in Rotterdam, Netherlands. Started and worked as a UNIX systemadministrator for a couple of years. Now I work for the software company called Nimbuspartners Ltd., conducting trainings and consultancy. I take nothing for granted, certainly not the life as we know it...
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Life is just a definition, isn't it? Mostly interpreted the way we humans think life is all about; breathing, thinking, flying, walking... When somebody dies, isn't it that a transformation into a different energy-state? The energy doesn't cease to exist...(isn't this good news?). So, who knows what energy-forms we yet have to meet... would be nice if those forms could communicate the way we do... if this is in the form of transmitting a radio-signal, well, that's why we do this SETI thing don't we?

Running SETI@home already for a couple of years, with a small break, picked it up again however (but still lost a couple of WU's...). Contributing to the project is my major goal, but I would be lying if I said I also don't enjoy the competitive ranking :-).
