| I'm a Soldier in the US Army with a very strong interest in anything radio or signal related. I'm 24 and I live in Florida now. Ive been running SETI@Home since 2003 on an old Pentium 2 and have upgraded hardware several times since I started donating time to the project. |
| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |
I run SETI@Home because its the closest thing we have to extraterrestrial SIGINT(Signals Intelligence). I believe that Dr. Drake is more correct than not in his theory about extraterrestrial intelligence and that it is only a matter of time before we find a signal coming from somewhere.
I really wish that the project had another telescope in the Southern Hemisphere, there's a whole lot of sky down there that isn't being listened to, and I don't like the idea of only covering one hemisphere on the planet. I also wish the project could get some time on the VLA to take another look at potential signals. |
