Personal background
I'm 45 years old a student at the moment. My interests apart from Seti are long distance cycling, amateur astronomy and B/W photography. I live in a small country town with a population of 8,000 people about 400 miles southwest of Sydney Australia
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I find it difficult that with all the stars out there in the universe that our sun would be the only on with a planet that can sustain life. They are out there somewhere. One thought puzzles me though. The thought is that radio waves take along time to get here so what we may be hearing is from so far in the past that any signals we do detect may have eminated from a now exstinct world.

I do believe that we should keep looking.

I run seti at home firstly because I heard about it about 2 1/2 years ago and thougth that my computer sits idle for long periods of the day so why not use the idle processor time for some useful purpose. I now runn seti@home on my desktop and laptop.
