Personal background
I am a student at the University of Calgary. I used to be the Student Representative for the Computer Science Undergraduate Society at the U of C back in 1999, which is where I found out about SETI. I am currently 21 1/2 years old, and am looking forward to the rest of my life :). I am currently taking Astrophysics and Chemistry, and am having a blast. In my spare time however, I race cars. Professional karts, rally, you name it. (Except for drag and oval racing. I need to race for longer periods of time than 12 seconds ;))

I love to figure out how things work, and that's how programming and automobiles got into my life.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I think SETI@home is the best possible thing for you to do with your computer when you are not using it. I have yet to find anything else out there that uses a computer's "downtime" as effectively as SETI@home. I would suggest it to anyone who has a computer with internet access. There are at least 8 hours a day (while you're sleeping) that you could find extraterrestrial life!
