Personal background
Hello There! (People from the Earth and the others!!)
I'm a chilean civil engineer, and I'm currently at the beginning of an academic career at my former University, very enthusiastic and anxious for the things to come. I've taken a fluid mechanics and hydraulics orientation, so if there is any ET who knows how the water behaves in the really outer space, then you could give a hand.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I'm pretty sure that ET life exists. Very often, wandering in nature, I hoped to have an close encounter, but it didn't happen :( . Anyway, I think, (and I'm sure you that it is not an original Idea, but I share it), if they are intelligent enough to travel such large distances (in our reference system), they could also had the oportunity to destroy us. And if they didn't, then surely they want for us no other than good things.
About SETI, I'm really encouraged by the project and I'm trying to convince other people to run it. As for the PC screensaver, I realized that it slows down a little the search itself (well, maybe it's caused by a bad configurated PC), so I use the ugliest of the screensaver instead.(Windows Flying). I also run the UNIX server, but I had problems with the LAN connection (my PC again) so I don't use very often, though I think it would be faster.

Well, Hello again ETs and the others, and keep pushing!
