Personal background
Hi! I'm Frank. Im crunching on a PIII PC @ 1Ghz with 768 MB RAM. My OS is Suse Linux 7.1, I love it. Most of the time my PC is crunching 11 Seti@Home packets.
My average crunching time on my Linux system at home is about 7 hours. At work I'm crunching too!

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Seti data packets crunch a lot faster on a Linux system, I think about 200% faster or more. Make sure you install a Seti client that is compiled for your platform. If possible use a 686 model seti client if hou have a PIII. In my case it speeds up with 15 to 30 minutes per data packet. ( In comparison to the 386 orientated Seti@home software)
Succes crunching!
