Have two computers running seti@home command line version. A 1.4 Athlon running w2k Pro (~5.5 hrs/unit) and an Athlon 1700 XP running WXP Pro (~4.5 hrs/unit). The command line version runs at least twice as fast for me and I don't need the pretty picture.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I think extraterrestrial life exists, but the distances are so great we may never discover much less meet our neighbors. The benefits if we did could be amazing; not the least of which might be to pull the peoples of earth together in brotherhood.
I run SETI@home because I am a lifetime Science Fiction fan and incurable romantic.
