Profile: RAH fan

Personal background
I am 52, and one of my hobbies is amateur astonomy. I am also a big fan of Robert A. Heinlein.
Besides the search for intelligence elsewhere in the universe, the most interesting and exciting aspect of Setiathome is analyzing data that might be useful to astronomers investigating hygrogen distribution throughout the Milky Way, the nature of pulsars, and so forth.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
It is a big universe....13.7 ly by a recent measurement...seems implausible to me that life only can be found on one planet.

Too late to decide if we should send signals...we have been doing so with the first pulse of electromagnetic energy pushed out of a telegraph key.

I run SETI@home because it is the one contribution I can make to science.
I hope the project can expand as hoped by the director.
