Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Purely by statistics alone there must be extraterrestrial life, I think that we as a planet must approach the subject of ET with caution but ignore the movies that always jump to the conclusion that it would be dangerous. Furthermore I think that a beacon should be transmitted (maybe from one of the AMSATS) with basic information about us in data form (binary).
SETI@home and Astropulse are funded by grants from the National Science Foundation, NASA, and donations from SETI@home volunteers. AstroPulse is funded in part by the NSF through grant AST-0307956.
