Personal background
I'm a male programmer from London, England. I've been running the Seti@Home software for several years now, although I created a new account to run on a seperate computer.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I do think ETL exists, otherwise I wouldn't be running the software on two computers! I'm not sure when we'll actually discover it, if they even want to be discovered in the first place!
We've already been broadcasting a lot of information for quie some time now, so I'm pretty sure that a specific beacon wouldn't do any more harm. Although, who's to know that some ETL will look at the beacon and not just sit watching Eastenders or Friends?!
I run Seti@Home for three reasons. 1) I like the pretty colours, 2) It gives my computer something to do (I love seeing the processor usage at 100% for the entire day!), and 3) I want to participate in a large-scale project that will hopefully do some good!
