Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1/ "A"why not?,
"B" don't know, with any luck at all we may be able to get some kind of com. going.
"C" But basically, probing the universe at this particular frequency ~1,4 ghz. seems like a worthwhile effort.
2/ I think that we are transmitting already, all kind of detectable frequencies, including our commercial broadcast freq. and info transmitting spacecraft.
3/ "Meten is Weten" (Probing is Knowledge) A inter-planetary detection array might increase detectability of Ext.Int.Life Com.
But more close at hand,: interesting is the possibility to deploy somehow, "GHOST",: ESA Spacecraft instead of shutting it down while still in orbit in a "silent" flight.
It seems that studying its incoming and outgoing data might shed extra info about our universe and thereby possibly increase our own changes of a extended and prolonged life on our own planet.
Perhaps some additional effort to extract and compile data from ghost spacecraft in orbit might meet the SETI target
for the coming 2003 AD
