Personal background
GREETINGS Seti folk, I'm josh, living in San Francisco. When I'm not busy
hacking system code for work, I can be found playing my musical instruments.. bass guitar and ukulele. Sometimes I can be found
hiking mountains, or getting into the art scene here. I'm also going to burning man this year. So if you are
going to be there look for the "Ill Vill Chill Mill" camp at the Illumination Village on the playa.

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I've only been using seti for a few months despite being logged in for 2 years.
My friend introduced me to it and I originally thought it was a great idea, but
my computer(s) sucked and I needed all cycles possible.. Now I have access to
a fast new home computer, and 3 at work. I try to keep them running as much as
possible.

I think that it is no coincidence that we are alive. Things are alive all around
us, and it is only a matter of time until we come across another life form. Perhaps
these other beings aren't nearly as similar as us, but they will help us understand
what the future may hold or might give us ideas on colonization of other planets and
galaxies. I'm excited to meet E.T.'s and hope it will happen in my lifetime.
