Profile: Bill McKeag

Personal background
My name is Bill McKeag and I live in Glasgow Scotland. Hobbies are astronomy and board game invention alongside the usual love of football (soccer to you guys in The States).

I travel extensively due to my job and enjoy the SETI programme and would of course be delighted to be the first to discover proof of extra terrestrial intelligence. I would be happy to discuss or exchange e-mails with any other SETI users. Please contact me at billmckeag@yahoo.co.uk
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1. Yes, I believe it has to exist in such a large Universe. I believe that they will contact us when we are felt to have developed to a level of humanity that will allow us to contribute to Universal culture. There are inherant dangers such as aggressive aliens etc etc, but personally, I would think that any race capable of travelling to Earth, would be further advanced and more civilised than this, and that war and the conquer and opression of other races, nations or Worlds would not be a possibility.

2. Yes, I believe we should send out basic information.

3. I run Seti@home on all my company computers and at home with my children. It's a great project and involves so many ordinary people who would otherwise have no imput. Gives everyone an interest and the opportunity to discover other 'life'
