Personal background
Computers starting in 1961 (USAF MA-1 System). Now install Temperature Control systems for Grimes Service Company in Grand Junction, CO.

Have three (and one mostly dead one) in a 100-Meg net work in our home. Used to wast time. My Wife, Saundra, and I enjoy playing games (Doom, Quake, etc.)
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1) Yes, Otherwise what a waste. Likely we'll step over 'It' and 'It' will bite us on the foot, or elsewhere. I think 'It(ET)' is in more danger from us then us from ET.

2) Maybe - Not sure we want to be 'found'.

3) Gives my computer some, of use, to do when I'm not playing with it.
