I'm 28, and live in Central New Jersey. I work 9-5 as an IS Administrator on a NT and UNIX Network, and web design on the side. I also run a small Handheld PC User Site, supporting the Jornada 720 and other HPC 2000 devices (www.simply720.com ). Hobbies are 'Star Gazing', 'Moon Photography',
Networks, Web Design, Wi-Fi and Wireless Technologies, Web Design, Handhelds and Photography. I am new on SETI@Home, and I decided to put the machines I have at home and at work to use when I am not using them, for this purpose. |
| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |

To think, feel or believe that we are the only one's out here is one's right as a human being, and a priviledge. Personally I cannot follow that train of thought, because there's too much damn room out there for only a few billion people stuck on this one planet. I believe that movies and the media have poisoned our imaginations in terms of Aliens. Personally I feel we as a species could not possibly comprehend or imagine what an alien would appear to us as. We, as humans, tend to think that an alien would look similar as we do. I highly doubt that would be the case, however I can see why. With the exception of the animals who truly run the planet (humor!), we have only
ourselves to compare to. The SETI and the SETI@Home program are an excellent and fascinating step forward, towards a global realization and acceptance that we are not the only one's out here.
