Personal background
My co-workers call me a geek, which is probably because I have a LAN set up in my house. I enjoy tinkering with different Operating System's, trying to see how many I can get to work together. I run SETI on all of my computers, my wife doesn't mind, as long as my corner stays a corner. I love messing around with computers.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I first heard about SETI when I was in college. I believe that we are not alone here. It never hurts to try looking but, if we do find them, I do not think it will be public knowledge at first. Our "view" of how the things were created would have to change. Church's would be the biggest and hardest hit. The fear factor would play a big part in how and when "they" would be made known to the masses.
