Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1) Yes I would say it is a statistical probability that other life exists. As to when it will be discvered....we that cannot be answered in my opinion. It will happen when it happens. How we react will be the most important test we face. Do we react with peace of fear?
2) No. It would take far too much energy to transmit a beacon across the sky t other worlds. We should walk before running and listen for other intelligence first.
3) I run because I want to help with the search. The more the merrier in my opinion.
