Profile: Andy King Of All

Personal background

I signed up to SETI over 10 years ago when i was only 16. Since then i have done my A-Levels, graduated from university and started working in IT.

Apart from that not much has changed. My interests have always been wide ranging, from science to geology, history to nature, computers to movies, philosophy to reading. I enjoy most things, learning about new people in different places and seeing their day to day lives and how it relates to my own, and from that how we can all learn to live a more peaceful, happy life.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Of course there is life elsewhere in the universe, but the question is what form does this life take and is it intelligent? And even if it is intelligent is it intelligent enough to try communicating with the heavens? Or did alien life evolve a billion years ago elsewhere and is now long dead?

I doubt humans will ever truly answer these questions as the odds of finding life are stacked against us. We may find evidence of some low level of life such as bacteria, but I doubt we'll ever answer the true question: Are we alone? Plus, I doubt we'll be on this earth for more than the next 10,000 years at best, so unless we leave our home planet behind we are doomed to die a lonely death here alone...

But the only way to find out is to try. So here I am with over a million others helping in the search for an alien signal.
