Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I heard about SETI@home a few years ago, and quickly joined the ranks. I founded the SETI@sff-net club for my fellow science fiction and fantasy authors from www.SFF.net (and elsewhere). We now have over 50 members and almost 90 years worth of accumulated CPU time in the project.

To my mind, SETI represents our best shot at discovering extraterrestrial intelligence, at least in my lifetime. Are the ETs out there? Will we discover them?

Those questions have been the grist for many a science fiction writer's mill. My participation in this project is just a small way in which I can show my appreciation for the wondrous stories and ideas that those questions have engendered.
