Profile: Comixx

Personal background
I love photography. Creating visual art is all I want to do with my life. I can find beauty in ramshackle old buildings, or the human body, or practically anything I can get in front of my camera.

I was born in Tacoma, and have lived in Salt Lake, Phoenix, Tucson, Wichita, San Antonio, Wichita Falls, Frankfurt, and Saudi Arabia. After serving in the USAF, I spent my GI Bill on getting a visual arts degree. In college, I discovered photography, and the rest is history.

Photography: I shoot digitally, using the Canon EOS 5D. I do most of my processing with Lightroom, but I'm also an accomplished Photoshop user, as well as being adept at Illustrator. I use studio-grade lighting, or (my preference) natural light. I have extensive experience shooting film (yes, I'm old enough that digital was introduced after I was an accomplished film shooter), and still have access to film cameras both 35mm and medium-format.

Video: During the completion of my degree in visual communication, I was trained in the use of digital video equipment, as well as After Effects and the AVID system.

I have many connections to the independent film industry in Phoenix. You can see my name on the Production Stills credit in any film done by Synthetic Human Pictures.
