Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
As someone who believes in evolution and in the the infiniteness of the universe, it is only logical to believe in the possibility that other planets such as ours, with intelligent life and methods of long distance communication, exist as well. Whether or not we'll ever be able to make contact with them while I'm alive is still an uncertainty, but helping the cause is certainly worth donating my extra processor time. I also think distributed computing is a very cool idea, especially for scientific research. Besides, watching the colorful bars of data appear on the screen is mesmerizing ;)
