Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I am a humanist and therefore don't believe in god, soul, afterlife etc. Probably because of this I think that the exploration of space and the fixing of our environment are the only worthy pursuits that mankind, in general, should be undertaking at this point in history. To realise the possibility that we are not alone would hopefully bring about a major shift in human conciousness, which is way overdue. We need to embrace the stars and find other potential homes before the earth is completely destroyed.
Seti@home raises awareness in space exploration and gives me personally something bigger to believe in.
