Personal background
I'm 47 years old. I've been married for 18 years. We don't have any children; however, we are the proud owners of two very spoiled Boston Terriors. I enjoy watching science fiction movies, and I'm a big Star Trek fan!
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1. I do believe that there are other life forms out there somewhere. As far as discovering other forms of life, I'm not sure when or how they will be discovered. Perhaps they will contact us. As with any new discovery, there is always the element of danger, as well as the possibility of long-term benefit. I think it depends upon how well the situation is handled.

2. I have mixed feelings about transmitting a beacon. I think we need to ask ourselves if we are mature enough to handle meeting extraterrestrial life without creating conflict. If we can honestly say we are, then by all means, transmit information that will show who we are, what we have accomplished, and what we aspire to be.

3. I'm new user to SETI@home,I wanted the opportunity to be a part of the discovery. I was surfing on the net one day and happened to stumble across the website. Since I'm new user, I'm not realy sure what my views are at this time.
