Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1. We will find that life is much more tenacious that anyone ever thought, and we will find it everywhere we look, and certainly everywhere we go. If however we discover intelligent life the outcome will be tragic for either us or them. It will depend on how well we taste.

2. Send a beacon but send it in such a manner that we can communicate with them but they cannot discover our location.

3. Discovery of intelligent life elsewhere would be the most important event in human history and they might have something really good to watch on cable.
