Personal background
Originally from Clevleand, Ohio... Now residing at Travis Air Force Base in California. Currently doing work as a C-5 crew chief. Interests? Well, when I -have- time, there's hiking, biking, stargazing, rollerblading, and just relaxing, having fun. I'm 26... Been in the Air Force about 10 months now, and I wouldn't change that for the world. Currently single, just enjoying life. :)
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Certainly ET life exists somewhere out there... The odds favor it, with as big as this fricking universe is! :)

I think we can improve our chances of finding ET life by transmitting a beacon... Probably use the old Voyager probes as models for the information sent. Though unless anyone else is actively looking like we are, our chances of finding anything in our lifetime (or our kids and grandkids, for that matter) is pretty slim. But, why not try? :)

I run SETI@home to help in this massive undertaking, and to do my tiny part to help the scientific community that I believe is hugely responsible for the way of life we hold dear today. I run the program constantly, and leave my computer on so I can get the most punch out of the program. The only improvement I could suggest is built-in multiple data download. As much as I appreciate the SETI@home community for trying to put together add-ons to do this, I find them a bit 'clunky' and confusing. I'd rather be able to do all that from one program: The SETI@home console. ;)
