Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1. First off I don't think there is any question that life exists on other planets. The universe is simply too large to consider that the circumstances that created our planet have not occurs in other places.

2. I don't think that a beacon is a good idea. If we have been searching for signals for however many years with no sucsess, then it stands to reason that other beings doing the same will have nearly the same results. I believe that we have a greater chance of finding something than being found by someone because we a looking. Anyway, where would we send the beam? and how much area could it cover and still be identified?

3. I run the program because my computer is available and the work is going to be done regardless, so I may as well add my hard earned computer power to the cause. I feel that finding and communicating with life somewhere else in the universe would be the greatest event in my lifetime and I would love to witness it.
