Personal background
I'm from the UK, a little place just outside Liverpool, y'know where the Beatles come from. This is TRUE, my mum actually went on a date with George Harrison in the 60's !! That's my claim to fame!! I am now 38 years old, my mum is about 380 !! I dont really have any hobbies except computing, and even that is nt a real hobby, I'm pretty boring really, but am convinced there IS life ot there. As usual like 99.999% of everyone involved in this project I am a sci-fi fan. My fave tv program is Millennium (now discontined) my favourite pop group (if you can class them as that ) is PINK FLOYD. My favourite food is beans on toast and my favourite drink is either Australian dry red wine or Lager. I would crawl over broken glass to lick Jennifer Anistons "£&%$** and think Brad pitt is a lucky F***er. If i won the lottery I would leave the UK the same day, I think Americans are incrredibly crass and stupid, and dont realise how lucky they are to live in such a beautiful country. Every trailer park in the US should be napalmed! the entire audiences of Jerry, Rikki, Montel, Sally etc etc should be taken into a field and shot. Other than that I'm pretty peace loving etc etc etc (honest!)
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1) of course, you would be a complete MORON to NOT believe in ET life
2) YES YES YES the risks are worth it
3)Mankind has been set back 800 years because of religion, don't get me wrong, I do believe in some all powerful supreme being, but I don't think he/she/it would be so boring as o only create 1 intelligent (who us?) race. if god took the time to create the zillions of biological organisms on this one planet, why would he stop there, why not inhabt other worlds, with even more bizzare creatures. it is only a matter of time until we meet another ET race, HOPEFULLY in my lifetime.

Of course I am worried about hostility, If there was no hostility with a new found ET race, I would think it was VERY unsual, but hopefully they will be MORE intelligent than us, and help us see sense

Any suggestions... bloody hell I wouldn't know where to start!! How sure are we that we are transmitting/receiving (T/R)on the right frequencies? aren't there more powerful ways of T/R? are there any other technologies ETs are likely to use? Microwave? infra Red? X-Ray etc etc who says radio is right?
