Personal background
I live in North Carolina,USA. I work as an electrician. I've always been interested in space, what's out there, theories, etc. i haven't pursued the subject to any degree but when i heard about SETI, i thought it would be a good learning opportunity..
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1. Yes.. When we are ready to handle it. I think it will be the other way around. WE have already been discovered, but our species can't handle the meeting just yet. We have to grow up. The benefits might be a huge understanding of so much. We are making huge leaps in technology (by our standards) but imagine what could be learned by a more advance civilization. How and why the universe..theory confirmation as well as demonstration.. dimensional shifts..wormholes..all kinds of things.
2. Sure! Something non threatening (kind of like the movie Contact), numbers, science as we understand it, something peaceful. Lets show our better side, of course, if we've already been discovered..they already know our darker side.
3. It's a learning opportunity. If it can really help find something, it would be great to be a part of it. my views? GO FOR IT!
