Personal background
I joined Team Where's George on Seti@Home after reading about it on one of the Where's George public forums. I live in Astoria, Queens in New York City and work on Manhattan's Upper East Side. I'm the bass guitarist in the fantastic rock band DARK MOON and am 49 years old and single.

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia...

Where's George? is a Website that tracks American paper money - most commonly one-dollar bills, but also higher denominations. The free site, established in 1998 by Hank Eskin, a computer consultant in Brookline, Massachusetts, allows people to type the serial code and year of a bill they want to track, as well as the ZIP code where each bill was found, into a searchable database. Later they can search the database if anybody else has encountered the bill and if so, where. The goal is to have fun while seeing where your money travels to.

To increase the chance of having a bill reported, users (called Georgers) write or stamp "www.wheresgeorge.com" on it. The United States Department of the Treasury has ruled that this does not break American laws about currency defacement because it does not render the bill unusable.

Imitators have sprung up for the currency in at least two other countries. Where's George has been the inspiration of other tracking websites such as BookCrossing.

Although 'Where's George' is usually used for fun, some have approached it as a semi-serious way to track patterns in the the American cash statistics.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I don't think extraterrestrial life exists, even though the odds are in its favor. I think there are too many variables for the creation of life here on Earth to imagine that it has happened somewhere else. Not that I think the SETI project is a waste of time... I've been proven wrong before! :)
