Profile: Clare McArdle

Personal background
I have lived in Manhattan all my life, Yorkville to be exact. I am a student at CUNY, studying general science, and I work as an administrative assistant. I am planning to study both astrophysics and forensic psychology. I will most likely apply to the FBI (I have a fondness of serial killers ha ha, no seriously, I want to be a profiler) , although I would also like to do some research, and I am toying with the idea of joining The Air Force (I already took the test for the army, but don't think it's for me), and I would love to go into space (hey I'm 21 I'm allowed to dream). I am a die-hard sci-fi fan (The X-Files, The Outer Limits, Stargate SG-1, etc.). And I read everything I can about UFO sightings, abductions, ancient aliens, religion, astrophysics, astrobiology, theoretical physics, cosmology, evolution, genetics, paranormal phenomena, etc.

I WANT TO BELIEVE
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I have no doubts that life exists elsewhere. The Universe is simply too big for there not to be. I think it is naive to believe that life could only exist on Earth. It is only a matter of time before we contact or are contacted by extraterrestrials, I personally believe that they are already here and that they have been here for very long time, I even think that they may have had a hand creating life on Earth. I run SETI@home because I feel that I have a responsibility to do my part in searching for the answer to one of the most basic questions that has ever been asked, "Are we alone?".
