Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I think there are lots of ET civilizations out there in deep space. Some of them are less developed and some of them posses greater knowledge. Radio communication is one way to make a contact but it would take a years to say Hi and get an answer. Some races use wormholes to travel through great distances and thats the origin of UFOs. They are here! Another explanation of UFOs is that they are time travellers. I believe that human kind have already made the first contact after WW2 and that some powerful organization keeps that a secret. Otherwise, our civilization may collapse if we find out the truth. Possible benefits are that we could get advanced technologies and make contacts with other races in some kind of interstellar federation. The danger is, of course, related to the behaviour of aliens. Are they here for good or they hide their true nature (invasion)? We dont need to send a beacon. Like I said, they have already found us first. We will contact with less developed civilizations through them. I run SETI@home because I want to be a part of the collective. My work is a small contribution to this mega project. I think this is great idea and that lots of users accross the world participate in one of the greatest projects in human kinds' history. Im sure Ill be arround for a lot of years to come. Go for it!
