Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I think SETI is a great idea. I personally feel we are not alone in the universe. Life is out there, just not in forms we comprehend. I can see a possibility of danger in discovering it, as perhaps that life will not understand us, we will not understand it, and fear will be a huge factor in the reactions. But, once we get educated, perhaps, in time, we will all benefit. We could transmit a beacon, yes, but as to what info that would be comprehended by a life form not of our kind, I don't know what to say about it. I do fully support having SETI@home. Why not use it? It simply takes a small bit of my computer, and it helps out a greater cause. I'm proud to do it. I say carry on, and hope this lasts a very long time.
