Personal background
As an Amateur Radio Operator the sun is more important to me than the stars but I have always been interested in stellar phenomenon. My favorite part of the Enterprise will always be stellar cartography. I am a 36 year old Aircraft Mechanic who spends his free time talking on the radio and looking at the stars.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1. Yes, I believe there is life on other planets. Although, I do not know if it is intelligent life.
2. No I do not. If the life out there is hostile like in "Independance Day" we have no planetary defences on such a scale. Nuclear weapons would be like toys to a race that can travel the stars.
3. I run it because I can. It is all I can do for the astronomical society.
