Personal background
Hi, I'm a 45 year old Electronics Engineer from Wivenhoe, Essex ,England.
I work for the national health service repairing medical equipment.
In the evenings, when not walking my dog, I play guitar and bass in a rock band (badly) and do a bit of amateur drama with various local groups. I also read an awful lot of sci-fi and sci-fact.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
In my view SETI is a prime example of big science that the little people can still do. Alone we can't achieve much but together we are a powerful force for progress and scientific discovery. I can't think of a better use for the spare cpu time on my pc. (and its prettier than the windows screen saver!)
Just to find evidence of other intelligent life would be a significant human milestone and perhaps would inspire further exploration.
