Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1.Do you think extraterrestrial life exists? If so, when and how will humans
discover it? What are the possible benefits and dangers of such a discovery?

No, I do not believe there is ETI. But if I am wrong we will discover it
when they show up to either enslave us or eat us. The dangers of such a discovery are being enslaved or eaten.

2.Should humans transmit a beacon for others to find? If so, what information
should we send?

Too late, ever since our discovery of radio waves and our inventions that
alter them, we have been broadcasting a continuous beacon for ETI to find us.

Just think of it. Over 60 years of network crap is our beacon to the universe. I wonder if it will make them want to eat us or enslave us. Let's hope they
like 'Friends' re-runs.

Seriously, we (as a species) should research some form of FTL communication and look there. If there is ETI, that is where we will find it fastest.

3.Why do you run SETI@home? What are your views about the project? Any
suggestions?

I run SETI at home because I think it is an excellent example of
distributed data processing. Plus I like to see how my graphics card cranks out results. As far as suggestions go, I think that SETI at home should start looking
for light signals (but I think that is underway).
