Personal background
I'm Alexander Edward Gammill, but many people call me Batman due to my preference of one fictional character that shares the name. I am 18 years old, and nearing the point in my life where I am to switch from being a temporary government employee to being a full time poor student, exciting? My hobbies include reading "nerdy material" (as I call it, based on reactions from "normal" people), playing tag with paintball markers, contemplating topics beyond my comprehension, and dedicating myself to my Fiancé, whom I'm pictured with. Some people call me eccentric, some people call me dumb, others even dare to call me smart, but I prefer to think of myself as a potential contributor to the events that shape our species’ fate.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I think searching for intelligence that parallels or surpasses our own, outside of our world, will prove to be a very rewarding endeavor for those involved. As for the rest of the population, they may not be impressed with the discovery of an artificial signal unless it meets the visionary standards set by those literary artists who specialize in the realm of science fiction. I am looking forward to the confirmation of what many of us suspect, that we are not alone.
