| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |

I have a great hope in interesting results from the SETI@Home project. I've been interested for years, but had no good 'net connection to use it with, and my computer wasn't exactly efficient at it. Now, I've a nice system that will do the project justice, and I can keep it on long enough to make it worthwhile. Yes, I think extraterrestrial life exists. I do not know if it is intelligent, or it survived long enough to BE contacted in a sentient state. There are too many unknown variables. For now, I beleive we should continue to take a passive 'look and listen' role. Our technology is not exactly spaceworthy yet... I do beleive we should take up more of a frontier/exporation role in space. I run SETI@home for several reasons. It's interesting to show my kids. I have hopes it will result in something useful. I can only hope more people will continue to use the project and run the project on their system(s).
