Personal background
My name is Sarah, I am a professional systems developer for the largest independant ISP in Europe. This involves a wide range of things where one day I will be writing or maintaining a billing system and the next will see me building an entire hosting platform or just doing a simple set of signup pages.

I have been crunching away for seti for many years and currently have a few boxes doing very little other than crunch.

After being interested in SETI and radio astronomy for years, I decided to take a distance learning radio astronomy course last year and got credits for that towards a university degree and am about to start another course which is all about Life in the universe and SETI. These courses are offered by www.astronomy.ac.uk and I have to admit to enjoying the courses I have done already.

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I think the reason I run SETI is the same as many other people. We want to know if we are alone or not. I hope to one day help find the next WOW! signal and see where it leads us.

In some ways I will be sorry to see the back of classic seti as it is something I became very attached to over the years I was running classic. Boinc is the future we are told so I have come to boinc and crunched.

All the best

Sarah

We came, We crunched, We discovered.......
