Personal background
I've always loved the idea of alien life somewhere out there (hello, it is logical). I used to plan all-night stakeouts on weekends at my grandpa's (cause he has a really big living room window for easier identification purposes) complete with snacks when I was younger. Fun times, I say. I used to have this awesome alien necklace too, but it met its demise under the dusty shelf of the local Petsmart. My hobbies consist of watching The X-Files and inventing new and challenging games for my hyper Siamese, Audrey (some favourites being Siamese Laundry and Taxidermy - she loves them). I spend all of my other time at my annoying school being bombarded with idiocy and suchlike.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I think this is a great idea and humans should be looking for extraterrestrials out there. It's possible they might be hostile and take us over/obliterate us with laser beams as illustrated in 87% of movies, but it's also possible that they could be of some help to us. Whether it's a curse or a blessing, or even if we don't find anything out there, we should still try to find intelligent life out there if for no other reason than plain neighbourly love.
