Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1. They might exist. Perhaps humans will discover them by going out into space or using the same method SETI@Home is using. Possible benefits are learning about life, and maybe other civilizations (if they exist), but possible dangers could be an attack by those aliens.

2. Yes we should transmit a beacon. We should send our location, what we are, and a welcoming message of peace.

3. I run SETI@home to contribute to the field of science instead of wasting my CPU power on a screen saver. My suggestions would be to take advantage of new processors out there especially Dual processors we see comming out from Apple.com
