I'm sure ET exists. Unfortunately, I suspect it will be very lucky if we ever hear from him let alone communicate in return. The vast distances and times envolved insure this difficulty. Never-the-less, I believe it is worth looking, forever if necessary.
We should transmit a beacon. Who knows, maybe we will get a message back. I think any risk to humanity is vanishingly small.
I run Seti@home because my computer is usually on and only used about 20% of the time. Finding ET is the ultimate "Treki" goal. |
