I don't know whether ET life exists, although it's hard for me to imagine that it doesn't... my hubris isn't sufficient for me to believe that I am part of the only sapient species in the universe! However, I am equally fascinated by the concept of distributed computing that goes into the SETI@home project, and I feel good to be a part of it.
As for transmitting a beacon to help ET life to find us, well, somehow I suspect that if they're that advanced, they'll find us anyway; there's no point in hiding from them! Let their first impression of humanity be a friendly one! :)
With any luck, perhaps Lord Xenu Himself will pay us a visit! |
