I believe the life is spread throughout the universe and I believe we are bound to find signs of other intelligent life before many years go by, if we keep looking with projects like Seti@Home. I think the confirmation that we are not alone could change humanity's outlook on life, perhaps finally uniting us and giving us a long term outlook that will help us to get beyond our current difficult times. I think the 'Star Trek' future, in the sense of a united humanity where almost everyone works toward the collective good and disappearance of the amassing of huge amounts of wealth for no reason other than to be wealthy.
I'd like the software to offer more options for customizing how it runs on your particular PC - I run it on multiple PCs that serve different functions and I'd like it to be more activity conscious on one, less so on another. I have not had trouble with the original Seti@Home app and I hope I can get the same performance from the BOINC version. I have not set all of my preferences on the website yet (I'd prefer to be able to set some of them on the PC running SetiBOINC), hopefully I'll be able to get what I want from those options. |
